Díli, East Timor (October 6th, 2021): From October 4th to October 9th 2021, Fatsuka Dare in Dili is hosting a youth camp for 428 young persons from 13 Municipalities in Timor-Leste. The camp is organised by Permatil, an organization that focuses on implementing permaculture projects within communities across Timor Leste. The purpose of this camp is to increase youth knowledge of natural resource management and related activities and support youth and local farmers. During the camp, participants will focus on the five program activities that are priortised by Permatil. These include an introduction to water and soil resource management, horticulture, farming, aquaculture and agro-forests.
The opening ceremony included representation from the embassies of Japan, China, the United States of America, South Korea, France, as well as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Merries Stope, Local Authorities and the General Director of Education, representing the Secretary State for Youth and Sports.
On this occasion the General Director conveyed a message from the Excellency Secretary State for Youth and Sports, which underscored the importance of the activities that are being carried out by Permatil and encouraged all parties to pay attention to the environment and carry out activities that are beneficial for themselves and the local community.
Eight persons from Oé-Cusse, two women and six men from two sub-districts Pante Macassar and Oesilo, are participating.
