Oé-Cusse, East Timor (March 14th 2022),Oé-Cusse is a region in Timor-Leste with a rich history, culture, nature, and religion. Through its wealth, it can attract local and international visitors. An example of a religious tourism site in Oé-Cusse is a statue of Nossa Senhora Leolbatan. It is located on top of the mountain over Lakufoan village. It is one of the pilgrimage sites in Oé-Cusse. Every year everyone in the region celebrates its founding day on the 27th of September and the day of Nossa Senhora on the 13rd of May. Some people do not know about this site, when you visit it you will feel happy as you can observe a beautiful landscape. You can see the sunset and enjoy the sunrise in the morning. You can take photos with your family and friends but you must follow the rules. As it is a pilgrim site people must respect it and always remember when visiting that place, to not forget to pray, everyone that prays will get blessed.
Apart from that, next to the statue, there is the nature of Mountain Nunus, also known as Fatuk Cobra. When you look at it from afar, it looks like the head of a cobra. That is a reason why people usually call it Fatuk Cobra. It is important to be careful when climbing, it is a dangerous place. It has the same view as the statue of Nossa Senhora. You can directly see the Indonesian area as it is very close to the border between Timor-Leste and Indonesia.
You can use the transportation to get there, such as motorbikes, cars, bicycles. It only takes an hour from the city to Leolbatan. The people who live in the area can go by foot. Those who live far away from that tourist spot will need to use the transportation.
As a tourist, if interested in visiting the site, do not worry, the community will provide a place where you can enjoy a cup of coffee and you can take some rest.
